Interface Units

Military upgrade programs accomplished in the past were done mainly on the aircraft of Russian origin equipped with original equipment. In order to find the optimum solution it was necessary to design and develop special signal converters and interface units. These interface units ensure the mutual signal compatibility of the original and newly installed avionics and in general serve for the following tasks:

1. Adjustment of the original Russian selsyn or desin signals to meet the ARINC407 requirements.
2. Transfer of the original discrete signals (e.g. WOW or the flap position) into the new avionics systems.
3. Conversion of a variety of ARINC 429 bus formats into a required one.
4. Conversion of the ARINC 429 data to CSDB format.
5. Diagnostics and signal DATA VALIDITY is generated.

All the special interface units were designed and developed by CLS a.s. and all of them are certified for the use in military aircraft.
We use special integration and testing work-places for development and manufacturing which are equipped with diagnostics instruments and the digital bus analyzers.
