The modernized Mi 17 helicopter system consists of VOR/ILS, DME, ADF, TACAN and GPS. All the navigation data are displayed on the MFD-255K multifunctional displays and on the back-up CDI and RMI indictors. Radio altimeter and barometric instruments were exchanged to comply with imperial unit calibration requirements.
The navigation system is completed by the weather radar system which is displayed on the multifunctional displays.
All the indication and control elements of the system are NVIS compatible.
